What makes a good GOAL Line partner?
Our partners are experienced and dedicated to bettering the lives of young students. Together they work as a coordinated community serving K–8 students in Northwest Detroit in the GOAL Line afterschool program. Enrichment partners:
- Design and lead enrichment classes in your area of expertise for class(es) of 30 students
- Have access to GOAL Line professional development offerings and on-site coaching
- Receive support from CEC and other partner staff for student behavior management in and out of the classroom
Partners must provide enrichment that addresses at least one of the following outcomes:
All partner applicants must currently provide youth programming in the City of Detroit, have the capacity to track program performance metrics, agree to participate in professional development and evaluation, and adhere to background checks and other requirements of the State of Michigan Childcare Licensing process.
ENGAGEMENT IN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
GOAL Line partners with the Youth Development Resource Center (YDRC) to ensure high-quality programming. All partners are expected to engage in continuous quality improvement work to maximize program effectiveness. This will involve periodic observations and coaching for program quality, as well as professional development sessions.
EVALUATION & REPORTING
GOAL Line is committed to using data as a means to promote program quality and success. As a partner, you will participate in weekly report-outs (i.e. attendance, lesson plans, weekly objectives, etc.). Furthermore, GOAL Line will be participating in year-long evaluation work (including use of the Youth Program Quality Assessment and student surveys focused on social emotional learning skills). Participation in evaluation work is mandatory.
PROGRAM TRANSPARENCY & STABILITY
In an effort to build a cohesive community, partners are expected to provide reliable and professional staff with appropriate training to engage K-8 youth. Staff members representing each partner should remain fairly consistent throughout the school-year; changes in program staff will need to be discussed with CEC staff.
